Finally, an
update! After a couple of years of hardly any fiber fun I finally found a group
of knitters to meet with, (we meet at the Mockingbird Café here in Bay St.
Louis) including a fabulous lace knitter who, along with Victorian Lace Today
inspired the lace shawl.
Also dusted my spinning wheel off and have begun to spin again, as the basket of handspun shows. I am determined to spin up my stash of fibers and would like to get some lace weight spinning done and then experiment with some crazy skeins.
I have been doing a lot of knitting for babies, baby hats and jackets and a few booties. Found some beautiful La Boheme from Fiesta yarns in my stash and finally replaced the Fiesta triangular shawl. I have also enjoyed experimenting with some lace scarves from Victorian Lace Today and also am eyeing some of the shawls in the new Bush book on Estonian Lace Shawls.
I have been
inspired by Martie Moreno’s beautifully dyed fibers from Taos Sunflower too
and am looking forward to spinning up a lovely ‘crocus’ batt and playing with
some “margarita” luxe locks, wensleydale locks. I am not sure yet what I will
make with these lovely fibers, however I am sure that something wonderful will
come to mind.
